A Cacao Ceremony to prepare for the Season of the Crone

As we move deeper into autumn and towards Samhain, we enter a time when the outer light begins to fade and we are invited to turn inward.

When the Darkness Sings is an intimate cacao ceremony woven with shamanic journeying, live voice, medicine songs, sound and ritual. Rather than seeing darkness as something to fear or overcome, we will enter it as a sacred space — a place of listening, remembering and meeting the deeper wisdom within us.

We will begin by sharing Lavalove Cacao, a ceremonial cacao from Guatemala grown and prepared in connection with Mayan tradition. Hamaima has worked closely with her Mayan teachers in Guatemala, including Wisdomkeepers Izaias and his wife Izabel. This Cacao carries a living connection to the people, land and tradition from which it comes. Cacao opens the space gently, bringing us into the body and the heart before we enter the journey.

As we move deeper, we invite in the energy of the Crone — the Wise Woman who takes her reign at Samhain and accompanies us through the darkest part of the year.

The Crone does not ask us to remain in the light. She invites us to enter the places where we cannot yet see clearly, to become still enough to listen, and to trust the wisdom that reveals itself when we stop searching outside ourselves.

Hamaima has spent many years learning and working with different spiritual and earth-based traditions, weaving these teachings into her own way of holding ceremonial space. Through live voice, shamanic songs, drum and sound, she accompanies the journey as it unfolds —creating a space in which we can travel deeply while remaining connected to the body, the Earth and the circle around us.

This is an invitation to enter the darkness consciously.
